Women have always had a place in motorsport, but their presence on the grid is still far from equal. One organization working to change that is Quantum FemRacing (QFR), a Berlin-based initiative dedicated to mentoring, managing, and supporting young women in motorsport.
Founded in late 2023, Quantum FemRacing emerged from a personal project that quickly grew into a professional platform. What began with helping one young woman start her racing career has evolved into a structured program within Quantum Development Consulting GmbH, aiming to make motorsport more inclusive and accessible for female talent.
From Passion Project to Purposeful Platform
The idea for Quantum FemRacing first took shape in August 2023. “It started as a private initiative,” the team recalls. “We were helping one young woman enter car racing. A few weeks later, the thought came up to extend this kind of support to other girls and young women. And that’s when we knew it would become something bigger.”
By November, the project had been formalized under Quantum Development Consulting. With decades of racing experience behind it. From karting and rallying to driver management and coaching, the team behind QFR saw a clear need for structured guidance tailored specifically to women.
“In 2023, for the first time, we worked with a young female driver,” they explain. “That was completely new for us, and it changed how we approached mentorship. Supporting a woman in motorsport requires a different mindset, not because of ability, but because of the environment and expectations around her.”

Rethinking Motorsport Mentorship
Quantum FemRacing’s approach is based on mentorship, not machinery. Rather than operating its own cars or teams, QFR collaborates with established racing outfits to provide female drivers with technical and sporting support while focusing on management, coaching, and strategic development.
“We see ourselves as mentors. The teams we work with deliver the on-track framework; we provide the management and career guidance behind it. From finding sponsors to managing public relations.”
Unlike most racing programs, Quantum FemRacing doesn’t run a formal selection process. “All of the young women we’ve worked with came to us directly, or through recommendations,” the team explains. “What matters most is passion for motorsport. Experience helps, but a genuine love for racing is what really counts.”
Breaking Barriers, Building Balance
While the presence of women in motorsport has grown significantly over the past few decades, they still represent a small minority across all roles, from drivers and engineers to organizers and team leaders.
“That’s exactly what we want to change. Our project alone won’t solve the imbalance, but we can be a small piece in a much larger puzzle.”
QFR sees motorsport as a unique arena for gender equality. “Unlike many sports, racing doesn’t need separate categories for men and women. Success depends on talent, preparation, and mindset, not gender.”
At the same time, the team notes that some differences remain in how partnerships and sponsorships must be approached. “Working with female drivers opens up entirely new areas of collaboration and industries that might not have been on our radar before,” they add. “But the times of non-acceptance are over. Women are respected in motorsport, they just need more visibility.”
Spotlight: Stella Keutmann

One of Quantum FemRacing’s most promising talents is Stella Keutmann, a 22-year-old racing driver and engineering student from Nideggen, near the Nürburgring.
“Stella brings a rare mix of technical expertise and racing instinct. She studies vehicle development, so she understands the mechanics of her car at a deep level.”
Stella began her motorsport journey in motocross and indoor karting before moving into car racing in 2021. Since then, she has competed successfully in the Belcar Skylimit Sprint Cup, racing GT and touring cars on circuits such as Spa-Francorchamps and Zolder. She also races in the Youngtimer Trophy and the Rundstrecken Challenge Nürburgring (RCN), blending modern and historic motorsport experience.
Her next major step will be the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) in 2026, a demanding championship known for its combination of speed, strategy, and endurance. Quantum FemRacing is currently helping her secure sponsors and media partners for the upcoming season.
Overcoming Challenges and Learning Along the Way
Like most ambitious projects, Quantum FemRacing’s journey hasn’t been without its obstacles. “Of course there were moments of doubt,” they admit. “But if you’re creative and willing to adapt, you can overcome them.”
The initiative has grown steadily since its inception. “From a fun idea to a structured organization, that’s something we’re proud of,” they say. “It’s still enjoyable, but now it’s more focused and professional.”
For QFR, success is measured in progress rather than trophies. “We define success by the development of our drivers. When we see them grow, improve, and move closer to their goals, that’s success for us.”
The Reality of Women in Motorsport Today
Quantum FemRacing observes that gender stereotypes play a much smaller role in motorsport than they once did. The bigger hurdle now is financial. “Motorsport has always been expensive,” they point out. “Without sponsorship or economic support, the jump from karting to car racing is difficult for anyone, male or female.”
Despite that, their experience with teams and associations has been overwhelmingly positive. “We’ve only encountered acceptance and respect,” they note. “Teams are open to female drivers, and many view them as a valuable addition. Motorsport associations have also started promoting female participation more actively.”
Looking Toward the Future
Long-term planning in motorsport is never simple, and QFR approaches the future with both optimism and realism. “Racing projects depend on funding and opportunity,” they explain. “We can’t predict what the next five or ten years will bring, but as long as our work makes a difference, we’ll continue.”
Even as a commercial project under Quantum Development Consulting GmbH, the team remains committed to their social mission: creating real opportunities for women in motorsport and inspiring the next generation to follow.
A Message to Aspiring Racers
When asked what advice they would give to young women pursuing motorsport, Quantum FemRacing offers simple but powerful words:
“Don’t get discouraged. Don’t give up. Keep going and believe in yourself.”
It’s a message that encapsulates the spirit of both the project and the sport itself: resilience, courage, and self-belief in the face of every challenge.
Quantum FemRacing continues to prove that women don’t just have a place in motorsport, they have the power to shape its future.
